Should I choose a tank or tankless water heater?
Traditional tank water heaters store a set amount of hot water and are often less expensive to install, especially when replacing an existing tank with a similar model. They are a practical choice for many households, but the stored supply can run low when several showers, appliances or fixtures are used close together.
Tankless water heaters heat water as it flows through the unit, so they do not rely on a large storage tank. A properly sized tankless system can provide long periods of hot water, but it still has a maximum flow rate. Running multiple showers and fixtures at once can exceed that capacity. Tankless installation may also require changes to gas piping, venting, electrical connections or water treatment, depending on the home and equipment.
The right choice depends on your household size, simultaneous hot-water demand, available fuel, installation conditions, upfront cost and long-term maintenance expectations. We can evaluate your existing setup and recommend a tank or tankless water heater that fits your home and budget.
